What were the skies like when you were young?

They went on forever – They - When I w- We lived in Arizona, and the skies always had little fluffy clouds in ‘em, and, uh… they were long… and clear and… there were lots of stars at night. And, uh, when it would rain, it would all turn - it- They were beautiful, the most beautiful skies as a matter of fact. Um, the sunsets were purple and red and yellow and on fire, and the clouds would catch the colours everywhere. That’s uh, neat ‘cause I used to look at them all the time, when I was little. You don’t see that. You might still see them in the desert.

Using US 1/2.25mm needles, provisional cast on 73 sts. Worked 1x1 ribbing for 16 rows. Picked up and knit the provisional cast on together with the live sts and k2 tog at the end. This way I have a channel to run elastic through at the top, and can sew up the gap afterwards (thus the extra st, for seaming)

Switch to US 2 1/2/3.00mm needles, begin lace pattern. Repeat 24 more times for a total of 25.

Switch back to US 1/2.25 mm, work 14 rounds of 1x1 ribbing. Work the k1, swyif stabilizing rows and bind off with kitchner.

Needlessly over-complicated for a pair of legwarmers?

… maybe. But they’ll stay up!
