2021-06-05 Swatching

Had swatched both knitting flat and knitting in the round with steeking to avoid colourwork on purl side and intarsia. After cost-benefit analysis (LOL!)….decided on sticking to pattern. Will just have to learn to do stranded colourwork with even tension on the wrong side.

Yarn Weights

All 5 skeins were 120g each new. Pattern instruction says to wind 3 smaller balls of C1 plus 1 larger ball. It didn’t say what the proportions of the balls should be, so I divided that 120g into 1 ball of 40g for both intarsia edges and 1 ball of 80g for all the charts.

After swatching and splitting C1, starting weights were
C1 = Mom Jeans = 80g + 40g
C2 = Nimbus = 120g
C3 = Cat’s Eye = 120g
C4 = Hot Damn = 110g
C5 = Teal’s a Party = 113g
