I finished this hat a few days before Christmas. I am not happy with the crown shaping and may re-do it (second photo from the top). The shaping starts too late and goes into decreasing on every row a bit too soon, creating a poofy and rippled crown.

The hat with re-worked crown shaping is shown in the top photo. It does fit better (less poofy at top) and is a bit shorter (about 8”).

Work 7 rows in knit past the colorwork. Follow pattern for crown shaping Rounds 1-7. Add a knit row after Rounds 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. Resume following pattern for Rounds 13-16.
