This is the sample project made for my newly released Sidereal Check Cowl pattern. This cowl (and recently released coordinating hat design) were selected by The Fibre Co for their Fall 2018 Yarn Support Programme!

I took my inspiration for these colorwork projects from high fashion garments featuring graphic variations of houndstooth check.

The reversible cowl, with one side in stranded colorwork and the other in a two-row stripe, has picot edgings. It begins with a provisional cast on and ends with three-needle bind off.

The coordinating Sidereal Check Hat, with optional pompom, may be made in one of two sizes to fit most women (men).

Yarn note: If making both pieces with Arranmore Light, two skeins of the main color and one of the contrast color will be more than enough.
