Notes

I love the way the yarn changes colour completely in different lights, and the way the cashmere gives a powdery surface while the silk gives shine and stitch definition. But that might also be because the yarn has a lot of twist in it.

When I was about to bind off, I noticed I’d read the starting border chart wrong, so after finishing I inserted a 2mm needle in the last row before the main chart, unravelled from the cast-on edge and knit the finishing border on the opposite direction. It was really too much work. I wouldn’t do it again. or, if I really needed too, I’d just cut the yarn, knit the starting border again, and graft.

01/23: I’ve been close to finish for ages, but progress is slow now because I’ve reached the first parts of the yarn that were spun, before I noticed I needed to pick guard hairs, so I’m trying to pick them off the yarn as I knit. It’s boring, and I’m afraid I’ll get an itchy shawl.
