Bouquets in Cross stitch. 560 P/6

Using 2 strands, I don’t know what else to do.
Started this in the early 70s and chose my own colors.. my attempts to match what I’ve already used are:

DMC 666 - a bright orange red -flower petals
CXC 321 - a med red, teensy bit more red than DMC
JP 99 - Grass Green
JP 28 - Myrtle Green a dark green
Add yellow 743

I think the leaves around the flowers should have been the lazy daisy stitch, but I went with how I started it 50 years ago, so it would all look a like. I messed up my thread on the 4th small leaf and had to cut it off. Will try to mend it so the previous leaf survives, by stitching over the short end on the back!

6-13-22 I finished the leaves, but took snips from the original red used and discovered it fades, so took out ALL red. Scotch tape area to remove all red fibers left behind.

6-14-22 Re-start red flowers. Finished left single flower.

6-15-22 Started center group of 3 flowers.

6-20-22 Finished center section green leaves, yellow Fr Knots and repaired a sloppy Fr Knot on the first section. Was surprised how I made 18 French Knots, one after the other with no issues! WOOT! Also surprised that my repair with a thread going down thru the middle to secure my sloppy side shifting red knot worked beautifully! znoe sll yhsy id lrgy the 3rd section with the dark red base that falls between flowers, the right red flower and it’s yellow Fr Knots - greenery already done. NOPE! I decided to finish the Fr Knots, since I’m doing so well with them. That’s 26 French Knots in a row with no issues, (and 1 repair of a previous one) That means I only have the red flower and the dark red base left :)

JJNE 26 2022. Another UFO project off my bucket iist, I feel blessed to have lived long enough to get back to this and finish it. There is a mate to it, but this is the one that was stared and left sitting.
