Stp 4: does not include the 6sc of the arm in the st count for that step. But you do the 6sc, THEN 16+1 more sc for leg.

I will say that I made the same mistake about 3 times and had to go back. When you do the leg split and crochet out for the second leg, no matter how I thought I was crocheting from the correct position, I would arrive at the body, faceing the arm, instead of being able to crochet forward to make the body. Good luck not doing that, ha, ha! Also, the second leg will look way too short when you first add the stitches out there, but will fill out as you crochet rows into it. It’s so funny, I thought this was a tiny bear, but my one side is 11” long! I know some of that will take up when filled, but still, I was surprised. I guess none of the pics actually had anything to reference a size from. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.

I sewed in and out (not whip stitch) around the edges and did not turn it. It was just too stiff and the edges too bulky. I had a stupid idea to cut a really long piece and just have one sew up thread, but realized right away, that I was spending more time pulling yarn thru than i was sewing! … not to mention that the yarn would be wore out by the time I got all the way around.

I had a lot of trouble getting the ears to define, and finally went from the top of the head down, then back up again, making a whip over stitch twice on top and knotting it, then taking that under the head seam, and that kinda formed the ears at last.
