My first try at the top, had my tension too loose and it was huge on the 5”. I started again, saving the original try for a different baby, someone here will fit it! I made another top and there was time between making the front and back. So one side is too big like the first top, and the other side is too small, BUT. Both together, big side for the back, it fits OK. So the 5” is getting this second top, and the CUTSIE is getting the first. I don’t see how they can fit of you sewed the sides shut, so I just tied a bow that can be removed to take on and off. Now pants, maybe booties, another hat fo the 5” bany.

I added 4 more rows to the body length of the top.

HAT: I had never done the YO with ribbing stitches before, and it was confusing how much to wrap when the next stitch was K or P. This video showed the transition:

The hat was too tight for Itty Betty’s head, soooo… some body got a new dress.

05 04 23 I started another hat, but this time I just wanted a classic ribbed beanie. I CO as directed, and then just did 20 rows, ran my yarn end thru the live stitches to close the top and sewed down the back seam. I like it a lot.
