Notes

I was seduced by the colors and the super cheap sale price of this yarn at Michaels…but like all quick and cheap love affairs I came to regret it! Well, maybe it wasn’t that bad. But I have sworn I won’t make another big project out of such cheap yarn again. It’s just not something I want to curl up in on a chilly evening, too stiff and artificial feeling.

It looks nice thrown over a chair though, and it was certainly easy enough to make. Like others, I found the sewing up at the end the worst part. There just doesn’t seem to be a good way to do it!

Oh, and I added a single crochet border around the whole thing after it was sewn up, using the same grey I used for the squares. I decreased at the inner corners where the squares and octagons meet and increased at the outer points so they would stay “pointy”.

Overall…easy pattern, bad yarn, but a fairly cool result. And the cat likes it!
