Notes

I’ve been dreaming about making one of those awesome knitted poufs for awhile, but my knitting skills aren’t that advanced yet. So I improvised this one out of crochet with some super bulky yarn I had in the stash.

I used Wool Ease Thick & Quick, and a size Q hook, but had to double the yarn to really get a good thick sturdy fabric out of it. So I flew through the 4 skeins pretty fast.

If there’s any interest I’ll post the “pattern”, but basically I just increased in a spiral until I had a circle about 16” in diameter, then stopped increasing to make the sides. I made it in two identical halves so it could easily be taken apart and put back together, for cleaning.

I would have liked it to be taller, but I ran out of yarn, so it’s only about 6” high. Obviously you could just keep going on the sides until it was as tall as you’d like. The whole project only took a few hours, including making the pillow to go inside it (I wanted something I could remove for washing, but I suppose you could just stuff it with rags or something)

It’s super soft and snuggly, and makes a great floor cushion. It also doubles as a cat bed! ;)
