I’ve been adding the Caron One Pound Golden yarn (which is about a shade darker than the goldish color in cake), every other color sequence so when I add the border using this yarn it will be part of the color sequence. So combination of this and 3 big cakes gives me a 38” height. Halfway point to my desired height of 78”.
Worked on this project on and off through the year and a half. One of those projects that got put to the side as I worked on other projects.

Alternate Dc in back loops, Dc in Front Loops on every other row.
While doing front loop/back loop on 1st and last stitch of row make sure you go through both loops (v) of stitch to prevent holes on edges.
