This project is an ongoing saga. My great-grandmother taught me how to knit dishcloths when I was 12 years old. She would always knit them for family members for Christmas and everyone would always look forward to them. When she died, I started knitting them. I knit at least 28 dishcloths per year -- 4 for each nuclear family within my extended family. Knitting them some years have been more difficult than others, but it has gotten easier since I’ve been out of college and now that I’m only working one job.
I’m starting with 12 dishcloths for Christmas 2017. Dishcloths for Christmas 2016 are done.

I was down to two skeins and a cone of dishcloth yarn, so I replenished my supply! I went to AC Moore and bought every color they had. It should last me several years. My previous haul was about three years ago.

I KonMari’d the crap out of my dishcloth collection and I’m thinking about selling them in color bundles rather than just individually.

I’ve re-bundled my dishcloth selection in my Etsy store. Dishcloths now come in bundles of 4 for $10. Find them here.

My pastor recently learned how to knit and wanted to make dishcloths for everyone who wanted them and donate the proceeds to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
She ended up getting requests for 60 dishcloths.
“I WOULD knit them all, but I’d be knitting them until Easter,” she said.
I sent 56 dishcloths to her to sell for $5 each, and she ended up raising $350. Some other people are helping her knit dishcloths, too.
Now I get to start all over again with my yarn stash.
