I’m knitting dishcloths for a fundraiser at my church. The dishcloths will be sold to raise money to help the immigrant children detained at the US-Mexico border.

This project is an ongoing saga. My great-grandmother taught me how to knit dishcloths when I was 12 years old. She would always knit them for family members for Christmas and everyone would always look forward to them. When she died, I continued to knit them. Now, I’ve knit dishcloths so many years in a row, that many members in my family have more than enough dishcloths (I’d give out 4 a year.) So I’m making them for other things. Last year, I made dishcloths for a fundraiser to help victims of hurricane Harvey. The year before, I made them for my boyfriend’s family, instead of my own.
