Oh hey inadvertent NaKniSweMo project

The yarn colors are pooling in the most delightful way.

We’re halfway through the month and I’m not halfway through this sweater. I’m a little concerned I won’t finish it by December, but I do have a lot of knitting time coming up on Thanksgiving.

Some might see this project as an abhorrent hellscape of facemelting brightness.
I set out to make the most obnoxious sweater possible for my best friend, Kevin, and I am succeeding. Oh, I am succeeding.

I LOVE the ridiculous plaid that seems to be marching up the back of this sweater.

I’m almost done with the first sleeve. I won’t get the sweater done by Dec. 1, but I did start it later in the month, so if it’s done by Dec. 6, I’ll be happy. This might be my last FO of the year.
I want nothing more than to knit sweaters right now. I have two planned and another sweater project I want to frog and start again in a different size and with a different pattern.

I’m about a third of the way through the second sleeve. Fingers crossed I finish this weekend (but I don’t want to jinx myself.)

The sweater is blocking. Tomorrow, I should be able to sew the pieces together and knit the collar.

This sweater is going to be gorgeous. One sleeve is on. I still need to sew on the other sleeve and knit the collar.
The distance I have to sew between the sleeve and the shoulder opening is never the same. I should probably take a professional class on knitwear finishing.

The shoulder seams got a little weird. It’s like I had too much shoulder and too little sleeve.
I learned a lot from this project and will apply my knowledge to my next sweater project!

Kevin received his sweater in the mail today and he loves it.

This year, Kevin wore this sweater and the pants I made for him together at his office Christmas party. It was quite an ensemble.
