I made the chevron skirt at the end of June. All this time I’ve been thinking it wanted to be part of a wardrobe.
When I found the start of a turquoise crocheted top in my WIP baggie, I knew it was going to happen. It is just the color I was looking for to go with the chevron skirt. I had looked, but I didn’t find any fabric at Six Sister’s Mercantile in this color. I was so focussed on fabric that I didn’t think of yarn. I also have a lighter lace cashmere yarn and a darker teal cotton one. Somewhere I should have a scrap of teal that I dyed for a dress I made. Maybe it will turn up and be turned into one of the reversible tops.
The fabric I did find at the mercantile was this flower power print. I was thinking it would be a cute focus fabric for a wardrobe when I bought it, but didn’t think about it going with the stripe in the chevron stripe.
I put the jeans from the Stop and Smell the Roses wardrobe in the plan, but I’m thinking I will make some in a different denim with embroidered bottoms.

My newest model arrived this week. She doesn’t have a name yet, but she will be the main muse for this wardrobe. I knitted the lengthened gold 275 top to be part of her meet outfit. She is an all vinyl, BeForever mini Felicity. She is a lovely doll, but if I was looking for an easy model, this isn’t it. I took her outside three times to get a couple of pics of her wearing her meet outfit. She has lovely, silky, full hair with silky being the main adjective. I’d go so far as to say downright slippery and did I mention full? I tried every trick I know to get her hat to sit like I wanted it. I finally came up with a new trick. I pulled a little bit of the back of her hair into a clear elastic band. It doesn’t show from the front and gives her hat pin something to hold on to.
All in all, I’m super happy with my newest muse for this my 3rd WAL wardrobe. She just may not wear a lot of hats.

In the middle of September, I spotted the turquoise Buttercup sweater I had crocheted in 2021 in my projects and thought it might work well in this wardrobe if I could find it. A few days later I did find it and really like how it looks.
Today, I got busy and sewed the chevron reversible top. I had turned up some turquoise fabric and just went for it. I thought i remembered how the top I put in the plan looked, but I guess I forgot that it hat a bottom band. I may or may not try another one with the band. I like this one just fine. It does rememind me a bit of a cheerleader top. I tried twice to sew the center seam on the machine, gave up and stitched it by hand. It now occurs to me that I could have just basted it and then stitched it on the machine.
I was surprised to see that the stripes almost perfectly lined up on the shoulders at the back and the yoke. That was completely unplanned.

I’m contemplating switching out the second reversible top for the moss crochet cami I finished this week. I’m going to try something in the new jade blue thread I bought at Hobby Lobby on Monday and see if I like it better.
I also finished the flower power skirt yesterday. It’s going to be so fun to mix and match with.
I finished a jade blue crochet summer top today and definitely want to switch out the reversible top. I really like the touch of dark value that it adds to the wardrobe. I can live with a bit less versatility.

I’ve been working on the reversible cami most of the week. I got it finished today except for the snap which I’m hoping to sew on when I finish this. I love how it turned out, just like I was picturing in. I can’t wait to put it in all the otufits.

I’ve been dragging my feet on the olive bell bottoms, mostly because I’m still getting used to my new sewing machine. I bit the bullet and sewed them today. Hurray! I think I’m getting at least a little more comfortable with the machine. i love how they turned out and how they fit into the wardrobe.

I found some teal Nature Spun fingering yarn yesterday and knitted a short-sleeved v-neck sweater. I love the color, but I think I may go with a long-sleeved sweater instead. I will most likely still make a striped poncho, but as an extra. I got to thinking that it will completely cover the tops, so not make as many different possible outfits as a cardigan.

Whoop, whoop! I finished the jeans with striped trim. I’ve been insecure about making them, but I just jumped in about an hour before dinner today. I finished them after we ate. Once I sort out the teal cardigan I will be done with this wardrobe!

Whoop, whoop! Finished! I made a second teal, AKA mallard, cardigan with long sleeves and a longer body this time. I like it. I guess I should try it on a doll with the skirts, but I love it with the shorts and bell bottoms. I may or may not add buttons, probably not. I’m thinking about also adding pockets, but probably not. It most likely won’t fit the cloth body dolls. I may need a second one for them.
