I wish I had some black yarn for the eyes. I ended up doing the ears in the round using magic cast on; it’s easier for me that way. I decreased 2 stitches on two rows (a total of 4 stitches) and then increased by the same amount on the “neck” area to add a little shaping.

Edit: Xena loves this toy, and it has lasted far longer than any of her other toys!
