Great pattern! I had just finished the ashbrook shawl for my son’s piano teacher as a graduation gift using these colors & had them out, so decided to use them for these socks also! Was interesting to see the almost marled look rather than direct striping. (Son plays piano, viola, and trombone & will be auditioning for college on all 3)

Minimum rephrased:
Cuff as per pattern
Leg: 3 full repeats of chart B
Heel start and heel extension: work chart C entirely, work heel extension as per pattern for average fit; while working the heel start and heel extension on the back of the sock, you continue chart B on the instep.
Turn the heel
Work the foot

Heel start, Heel extension and Foot (these are section names in the pattern) shall be totally 3 full repeats of chart B + 14 rows of the 4th repeat on the instep.

Toe transition and spiral toe as per pattern.

Bare minimum means 7 MC and CC1 ovals and 8 CC2 ovals on the instep.
