This is the shawl that made me want to learn to knit. I’m quite nervous about this whole thing!!!

Using size 6/0 seed beads, Crystal with silver lining from JoAnn’s. Wanted to use ToHo’s, but they didn’t have any and I really didn’t feel like driving to a bunch of other stores looking for them.

It’s done. It’s done. My precious baby is done! I can’t believe it! I am so proud of this thing! I went into a lot more detail on the blog, if you’d like to check it out.

Notes:

The yarn wasn’t super soft to work with, but once it had been washed and blocked, it was nearly unrecognizable with how buttery soft it is. I had to be talked out of cuddling it all night.

I ended up finding some beautiful copper beads and decided to use them for the Orion constellation.

I ended up using close to 900 beads total.

Mods:

• Omitted last 3 rows of the final charts. I literally could not handle doing anymore seeing as it was taking me almost an hour a row at that point.

• Did 2 K rows, then a row of YO,k2tog, followed by a K row with a bead added on every k2tog from the previous row. 2 more K rows before starting the edging.

• Edging was something that I planned and charted out for myself. Yes, it’s the Star Trek com badge. XD
