I’ve used the pattern for the bakewell blanket up until round eight. I’ve finished off with a round of single crochets (US terminology) and attached the accessories as i went. For the “squid arms” i did regular chains and then 2 single crochets (US terminology) in each chain to get the curly look.

I like how the blanket/cloth itself contains sensory elements consisting of the small bubbles and holes.
