I am exploring how to make stranded socks in the knitting machine but I wanted a gusset so I increased the sides after the heel openning to create a gusset. The heel is knitted by hand using a combination of short rows and standard heel decreases as I go. It’s hard to explain with words.

The only downside is that the seam ends up exactly in the back and center of the sole which might bother some people, Personally, it doesn’t bother me at all and I love these socks. I am thrilled with the results.
