This yarn is great! Soft, cotton/acrylic, washable, and lovely long striping with subtle specs to mottle it just a smidge. It’ll be nice and smooshy-cozy against the neck.

Cast on 81 sts.
On first increase round, I only increased 1 st at center = 82 sts. I placed 2 markers around those 2 center stitches and then worked all increases ‘outside’ those 2 markers.

When my piece was about 4” long, I increased 3 sts on each side of the EOR marker (at about 15 sts outward) across 6 rounds (basically working the rep-pattern for the point down the front. I did it again when the piece was 6” long. I did this to exaggerated the flaring and make it more cone shaped.

I worked in a couple german short-rows across the fronts when I was getting toward the end of the project. These short rows don’t add any extra stitches (so it doesn’t create more flaring out), but it makes the back-neck shorter then the front ‘point’ and therefore a little less bulky across the back of the neck.

To keep the bottom edge from rolling, I worked two rounds of purling. Then I bound off with smaller size US 5 needles like this: Bind off 1 st like normal, * yo, k1, pass both stitches on the right needle (includes the yo) over the stitch just made; rep from * to end. (Those yo’s make the edge really stretchy.)
