The mosaic pattern looks like little zipper ‘teeth’ to me, hence the name of my project… :

This is my first time learning how to work mosaic crochet. It’s the perfect design for beginners! Mosaic crochet is much easier to do than I would’ve expected.

I wanted six stripes of color, but I didn’t want the cowl to end up taller. So I omitted rnds 4, 5 & 9 of each repeat. (On the final rep, I worked rnd 9 so that the color band would be the same width on the ‘top’ as it is on the bottom.)

I’m surprised as how fluid and drape-y the fabric turned out. My experience with crochet isn’t very extensive, and I thought crochet work would always end up with a stiff fabric.

This pattern is Ex-Treme-Ly addictive! It held my interest, but isn’t complicated. The infinite color combinations possible for this design have got me imaging many more future projects.

NOTE: I didn’t weigh/measure the yardage for each color, but the final cowl weighs 62g.
