A scarf for my sis’ birthday, with the theme of asymmetry which she likes. She also likes contrast, zig zag patterns, the colour olive, and chunky fringes.
Went with Drops Lima for the entire scarf (65% wool, 35% alpaca, 15wpi) - Maroon and Beige in the warp, Olive and Wheat in the weft, with a bit of Drops Andes in Off White for the heart signature.
Warped 64 slots (128 ends), 42cm width, and 2.9m for a woven length of at least 2.4m.
Hemstitched over 4 warps and 3 wefts.
Tried normal clasped weft (returning in the same shed) but didn’t like the look of it, so changed it to returning in the next shed. Planned on doing simple Olive vs Wheat zig zag as well as shapes involving striped/mixed colour patterns. Improvised as I wove.
Managed to weave 2.61m after all! Draw in to 39cm.
Twisted fringes in groups of 8 warps - tried 4 warps first but wasn’t chunky looking enough. Snuck in extra wheat threads below the heart marker for extra detail.
