I decided to go through my yarn stash and use some of it up. This wool was given to me for free. It’s a little bit brittle but I decided “what do I have to lose?” and used it in a weaving warp and so far, there have been no problems! I’m weaving a warm wool shawl to snuggle with for the remainder of this bitterly cold winter! My inspiration came from all the worsted-weight scarves I wove this fall out of acrylic yarns. I noticed the larger yarns made neat designs!!
1/19: finished weaving shawl! It was really stiff until I washed it in very hot water in my washing machine… no turning action though. Just laid it into the water with some dish soap, spun it out, took it out and filled the washer again, laid it into the hot water, spun it out, and put it into the sun to dry. It softened up SO much! And it’s SO warm! And it’s the perfect length!
