Another “perfected” pattern i have changed, also done in double strands of frogged Unforgettable.

Spiral cap with ribbing

Using J hook because it feels good in my hands and two strands of knitting worsted or one strand thicker yarn.

Rnd 1: magic circle: sc over the join and ch1 to count as beginning dc, 11 more dc in circle, tighten: 12 sts
Rnd 2: work in spaces between dc of previous round for pattern stitch. Sc under ch 1 of last round, ch1 to count as beginning dc, dc in same space, 2 dc in each space around: 24 sts (mark end of each round to avoid counting)
Rnd 3: 2 dc in same space, dc in next two spaces, repeat from: 32 sts
Rnd 4: dc in each sp between dcs on rnd before
Rnd 5: 2 dc in same space, dc in next three spaces, repeat from: 40 sts
Rnd 6: dc in each sp between dcs on rnd before
Rnd 7: dc in each sp between dcs on rnd before
Rnd 8: 2 dc in same space, dc in next three spaces, repeat from: 50 sts
Rnd 9: dc in each sp between dcs on rnd before
Rnd 10-16(ribbing): alternate front post and back post dc around
try on hat and adjust length by adding or omitting rounds.
Final round: For a nice segue into the reverse sc finishing round, step down the last round of dc rib with hdc, sc, around the last three dc. To reverse sc, ch 1 for starting sc, then work from the front in next space to the RIGHT and continue around. Do not turn work for this. Fasten off and weave in end.
