Last yarn from the frogged queen blanket. Started the same as for the grape purple with G hook and fsc 60. Wanted to hide round change in corner, so ended up beginning the dc round (in the first fsc) with middle stitch of 3cluster - so 2 dc. Worked 20 dc (becomes back) 3dc corner 8 dc (becomes right shoulder) 3dc corner 20 dc (becomes front) 3dc corner, 8 dc (becomes left shoulder) then end round with dc in same stitch as beginning 2dc to complete corner. Ch1 (no turn) and begin next round in first stitch of last round with two sc. Continue as established. Found it helpful to mark the first stitch in one color marker and the other corners in the same different color. Last stitch of round always completes the beginning corner. First stitch of round always begins in first stitch of last round - which can be a bit tricky to see without marking. But not hard if it is. Based on previous project, worked 17 repeats of alternating dc/sc rounds.
Joined as before by folding and matching long sides. Began join round with ONE dc in first stitch, worked long side, then ONE dc in corner, joining dc to attach both corners, ONE dc in corner, dc in long side, dc in corner, joining dc attaching corners. My joining dc consists of y/o as usual, draw up a loop and pull through the first corner, draw up a loop and pull through the second corner, draw up a loop through THREE loops on hook, finish dc.
Since my join wasn’t showing (YAY) but I no longer had a corner to hide it in, I switched to alternating front and back post ribbing for the part below the arm holes. Continued to spiral. Stopped when I ran out of yarn. Stopped spiral with an SC on the last back post and slipped to join. Disappeared.
Neck still had jag at original join even being careful, plus wanted to slide around, so found a tiny bit more of yarn and worked ribbing at neck. Established round of 60 dc, then worked two rounds of front and back post ribbing. Very happy now.
Considering frogging a scarf in this yarn to edge the sleeves, but don’t think they need it.
Only problem is the frogged yarn is showing wear already from previous incarnations. Think this will be a go to pattern.
