Using crystal beads with a silver lining. I opted not to swatch. I also forgot to weigh the first ball of yarn before I started! But, I’ve approximated the weight to be 103 grams.
My friend Vicky did the cast-on for me. I kept having problems with the beaded circular cast-on, which I’ve done before, but apparently couldn’t get right this time. :D
DPNs - US4/3.5mm Signature Needle Arts
Circulars - US4/3.5mm HiyaHiya sharps with interchangeable cords
Up until the increases to get to chart D, it’s a little too small to use a 16” circular on…I suppose you could magic loop it.

Aaaand, done! Remaining yarn weighs 54.8g. I opted to do the stock 5-stitch garter edging listed in the pattern.
Overall, this was a good knit. It is fairly boring, though, even with all the beads. There aren’t too many stars to place, but placing them does slow you down. The edging takes forever~
I used knitCompanion to help me keep track of rows and I had labeled stitch markers for each chart and I also had a stitch marker in the middle of each section to ensure I didn’t mess up too badly. Honestly, the only real tricky bit was the magic loop cast on at the beginning.
When blocking, I used Inspinknity wires and pins to get as circular as possible. I pinned a flexible tape measure in the middle, too, and swung it around as I pinned to try to get an even 23” from center to get the suggested diameter. It worked reasonably well, although there were a couple sections that smoothed out better to about 24”.
knitCompanion says it took me about 59 hours to make this shawl. 9 of those hours were spent on the edging, omg~
