Notes

I plan to just use this for the toes of several pairs of socks for the added warmth in the toe area.

I start with 16 stitches cast on over 2 circulars held together, increase to 32 stitches each needle. Start putting a Princess sole on them by knitting 3 stitches each side on the sole and purling the rest. Work until 59 rounds from cast on, start the gusset by doing a m1 2 stitches in from the edge on each side of the sole. On the round that I make my 10th increase for the gusset, I switch back to knitting all the way around since it’s past the part of my foot there that tends to be tender. I work 1 round after getting to 64 stitches on the sole and then put in my waste yarn for the modified afterthought heel from the Evanesco sock pattern. Then I do my heel decreases, work 15 rounds after joining back up with the insole, change to 2x2 ribbing and work 15 rounds, then bind off. The heel is 14 rounds after I pull out the waste yarn and pick up the stitches.
