I made these blankets between the late 1970’s and 1990. I believe the top one is the eldest, and dated back to around 1977 - 1979. It was made for my mother, of blessed memory.

The pattern was from a kit I mail ordered out of one of the magazines at the time. I shared the kit with a coworker, who didn’t want to make it in brown. So, she got the cream colored yarn from the kit and bought navy for herself. I kept the kit’s brown and bought more cream.

The brown ripple is from 1981ish and the cream/apricot/seafoam one dates from 1990ish. I love the design and chose colors to match a couch I had at the time.

I liked the brown ripple so well, I wanted to make another to match the new couch…but I also wanted something bigger than a lap robe. You can see the difference in size, in the second photo.
