Notes

My main goal with this project was to get a consistent single and to find my rhythm when drafting the fiber. The colors of this top was a joy to work with and I’m surprised how quickly I spun up all of it.

9/6/2010 - Finished spinning the 2 bobbins full of singles

9/8/2010 - Wound both bobbins into center pulled balls. I plied the outside strand with the inside strand of the same ball to mix the colors. I had one bobbin completely full with the single and it did not fit back onto the same bobbin so I instead switched part way through. Created 3 hank on my 42” niddy noddy

9/8/201 - Let the hanks soak in hot water with Eucalan for 15 minutes, then switched to another bath of hot water for another 10 minutes (since 1st bath had some red color let-off). Then shocked into cold water. Squeezed out water and “snapped” tha hanks. Then laid on towel to squeeze out remaining water. The hanks are hanging straight without any weight on the bottoms! Hung on lamp to dry.

Hank 1 - 122 loops = 142 yards
Hank 2 - 103 yards = 120 yards
Hank 3 - 34 yards = 40 yards
