I love how this sweater turned out, that said, I gave it only 2 stars. The primary reason for that is that for a pattern that costs a whopping $10! it sure is way to simplified and lots of technical information is missing. I choose this pattern because after really difficult semester at graduate school I wanted an easy project that I do not have much to think about and calculate anything. So, I thought for $10 bucks this must be it. Well, I had to start it 5 times because the tubular CO is not familiar to me and pattern provided only written description that I did not understand, so I had to search for multiple videos on how to do that. I already knew how to do needle BO, but tried to follow the written directions in the pattern. However, they made little sense to me, so I just did it the way I normally do it.
No information was given what yarn to break when knitting neckline. It is easy to deduct, but do I really need to be doing it for this price?
I could not get the correct gauge, but I do not blame the pattern for it, it is always the problem with me because I knit very loose. This resulted in slightly different shape and I had to make a wider ribbing on the neckline.
Bottom line, I love the finished project, despite the pattern flows. I would rate pattern much higher if it was $5, but for $10 I expect more. Including video tutorials would go a long way and justify the price a little more.
The yarn combination turned out just wonderful. Pure luxury.
Cannot wait to wear this sweater, but so far no luck. It has been too warm here in San Diego. We are expecting 81F on Saturday.
