Notes

This is a neck gaiter that is so, SO soft and warm! I wear it unfolded and slouchy.

10/11/14 Working on another cowl of Joelle Hoverson’s (Purl Soho in NYC), this time using Madelinetosh in the sportweight colorway of “Hickory” on size 5 circs. Finished length=12.5”.

Knitting it up is exciting watching the natural tonal colors of brown/gray/tan play out in my stitches, and I’m thinking of hickory-nutting with my Mom & little brother in the woods in Wisconsin! We’d fill Red Owl brown paper grocery bags full of them, then take them home & crack ‘em open with a hammer. I can almost taste the hickory nuts right now…

10/18/14 Using madelinetosh pashmina in the colorway Heuchera. Heuchera is a native plant in NW Montana. Blackfoot & Flathead Indians used the roots of this plant for a variety of medicinal purposes.

10/30/14 Knitting yet another ribbed cowl in Tosh DK Moorland, which is an emerald green/black colorway. This will make a great Christmas gift for a friend of mine in northern Wisconsin!

11/10/14 Knitting Madelinetosh Pashmina in the colorway of Antler, which is subtle in it’s tones and knits up beautifully! This ribbed cowl will be packaged with some handknit mittens for a Christmas gift going to the Midwest.

Notes to Myself:
I decided to change to ribbing at top & bottom of cowl for a stretchier over-the-head fit, & just to change it up a bit.
Mods: CO 136 sts.
K4, P4 ribbing for 1.5” (12 rnds on sz 5 needles).
