Meh. Guess who didn’t completely forgot to do a gauge swatch! The width seems alright, but I will be doing only 5 repeats of the pattern for the back instead of 6 before starting the armholes.
My gauge swatch is 24 st on 30 rows, pattern calls for 28 st and 38 rows for 4”/10 cm on 3,25 mm. I like the drape 3,25 mm needles give, so I’ll keep knitting on them.
Stitches:
121 after ribbing, 103 for me. 103-21(18?) 82 (85). On 2,75. Calculation. Idea: knit smallest size stitches so you don’t have to re-calculate stitch pattern repeats! Yes. Then, only 4 row repeats.
Pattern is 17 st, 10 or 9 repeats in usual pattern
Rows:
Back: following ribbing, after 1st time pattern, 5 repeats of 16 row stitch pattern before armhole shaping: 96 rows in total. 76 rows for me.
After putting all the pieces together, I found the sleeves too wide, too drapey on the underarm (I also found it strange there is only one size sleeve for all sizes). I also wonder whether the shoulders are not too far removed from the natural shoulderline, taking the shoulderpads into consideration. Remove and reknit? Or take in the seam at the underarm? I ended up making a big seam, taking in two rows of flowers on each side. Note to self: always pin and fit first - not safety pin, to prevent taking out and re-seaming AGAIN
