This is a project I started for my sister who is a bit fabulous and whom I’ve never knitted anything for before. I looked at a LOT of patterns but none of them had the balance of simplicity and restraint in design necessary for my sister’s tastes. I chose the blue yarn to set off her blue eyes, and the alpaca because it feels so soft on your chin in the freezing cold.

I cast on 105 stitches to a Size 8 circular needle, and basically knit 4, purl 4 to get this design. So simple, I really think the pattern emphasizes the texture and colour of the material. I hope she actually wears it!
