Named after, and made for, the latest grandchild - Cielo - which means heaven in Italian & Spanish.

3/22/10: Cast on 111 stitches to give me a 26” width at 16 stitches/4 inches. I’ve got 2 skeins of Cascade 220 in my stash, perfect for a baby blanket used single stranded - hope 2 skeins is enough! We’ll see.

3/29/10: looks like 2 skeins might just be fine once I block it. The colour of the yarn appeared quite dull in the skein (bought it at a deep discount thinking I’d over-dye it) but knitted up is quite lovely. I love yellow. Funny how that happens.

4/7/10: baby came last night! finished just in time - still gotta block it though - pre-block measurement: 23” x 23”. Yarn relaxed in the water like me in a hot tub! unbelievable. post-block measurements are 31” x 32”. And it looks lovely and feels great, as well. A winner!
