Notes

Answers in bold from designer:

  1. for 3-4 yrs and up its 6mm - what about the smaller sizes?? what needle size must they be? all sizes 6mm, longer or circular needles are required to hold the amount of stitches for the yoke at the larger sizes.

  2. this pattern could easily be made from the top-down (which is the in-thing at the moment) or bottom up with no sewing - people are not into all the sewing up anymore. I am going to do the fronts and back together as i am not one for sewing up pieces Yes, its just not how I have learnt but good point. Also had not thought of front and back tog - good idea.

  3. plse explain what you mean by ” grown on CF band” as i have never heard of that before…or are you referring to the “button band which is 4, 5 sts depending on what size you are doing. If thats the case, then you should consider changing your wording grown on is just another way of saying button band incorporated (maybe a UK thing) and it is not knitted after the front and back sections are complete.

  4. People are going to ask for measurements to include inches and cm - just a heads-up Yes, will add

  5. People will ask you to number the pages.Yes, will do

  6. Chunky is what ply to you - Aran (10 ply or Bulky 12 ply))?? http://blog.loveknitting.com/yarn-weights-translated/ Chunky = bulky 12 ply. I am happy for you to work in weight of your choice

  7. Looking at RIGHT FRONT section you mention repeat . until work measures 5, 6 etc cm - is this from where you start doing stocking stitch or is it from row 1 of your ribbing?? work 5cms from the very first row of knitting

  8. Back Section, 4th line, k8, k2tog repeat ,* Must you cast off 4 sts and then do the k8, k2tog to the end of the row - is this what you are implying?? Yes cast off 4 stitches for the underarm shaping, then knit 8, k2tog to end

  9. Button holes - i am finding it hard to understand what you are saying so…. are you implying that when work measures 20 cm and 24 cm - button holes must be made? Yes when work measures 20 and then 24cms for size 0-6m button holes should be made, 12 rows, 6 ridges between button holes

  10. You do not mention how you want button holes made so i assume its K2, YO, k2tog?? es happy with that method - left it open as the button size is optional

On 4.5 mm i get 17 sts per 4 inch with worsted/Aran and on a 6mm i got 15 sts per 4 inch - so i hope designer doesnt mind me using Aran instead of the chunky…
**********************************************
All done just need to cast off but before i do, what is the length of the yoke supposed to be plse? yoke measurement 10cms

i added extra 4 rows to the body cause from looking at the pictures it looks like it comes to top of bum and i would like it a bit longer. Happy for you to modify to your taste.

What other motifs do you have as i feel for babies, the lion with the loops would be a problem as little fingers will get stuck in those loops. I am thinking of knitting that seperately and then just sewing it onto the top. Whats your thoughts on this? The lion can be knitted excluding the loops - perhaps I should offer fringing as an alternate method for the smaller sizes.
Again I am happy for you to adapt to suit your tastes.

Final comments:
I am very happy with my botton-up version. its a quick knit and the designer allows one to play around with the pattern. Will be making many more of this. Just too gorgeous!!!
