5/30/14 - I read around patterns on Ravelry that used this specific yarn as it is rather unusual. Decided to do a scarf with a simple K1, YO, K2TOG pattern repeated. I cast on 24 stitches and am just going to continue until I use up all the two skeins I think! I wanted something very mindless to do to serve as a good “meditation” type project.
7/12/14 - It’s ridiculous how long this is taking me! Partly because the yarn is so thin, and partly because I keep having to rip and reknit. But I’ve figured out a way to avoid messing up if I just pay attention. And revised to make it just an infinity scarf (30” rather than 70”). I’m resigned to doing at least 4 rows a day, and I’ll be done in four weeks!
8/1/14 - And NOW, new plan! I have started “knitting as meditation” which means a lot more knitting, and this past week I went to town! After only five days, scarf is now at about 28” and I’m going to keep knitting till I use up both skeins, which I hope will be something like 50”. Yay!
8/8/14 - Wow did I go like blazes at the end of this! Crazy to think about it. I did 44” in the past week and the scarf ended up 72” long!!! So I made my goal of four weeks set on 7/12, except I knitted 42” more than planned. I guess I learned from this project that (1) practicing a stitch will eventually really increase your speed, and (2) knitting is good for me.
