Have had this pattern for ages, just not got round to knitting it. Needed a quick and easy project to see me through to the new year.
This is really easy to knit and memorize. Clear charts.
Using some gorgeously soft cashmerino yarn I had left over from a previous project.
Started Sun 17 December. Using 4.5mm needles
Tues 19. OK, so I’ve done 10 repeats of the chart and this is not very big!! Think I’m going to have to do a few more than the 12 the pattern suggests. Would like a shawl on the bigger side so 16 repeats maybe?
Hoping it’s going to look right in red.
So I’ve done 16 repeats and started on the remaining part of the chart…….. um…… I think I may run out of yarn!!!
Decided to unpick a few rows (I hate unpicking!!). Took it back to row 26, didn’t have the heart or patience to take it back another 8 rows so jumped from row 26 to row 37, had to fudge it a little to make the pattern line up, hoping this is going to be OK and no one will notice!!!
Dec 21: Done!!
Had 447 stitches by the end. Off the needles, now just to block. Looks great in red.
Excellent you can’t tell that I chopped a bit of the pattern out!!!
Blocks beautifully although was hoping for a slightly larger shawl, never mind it’s big enough.
Measures 38” down the spine and 66” wingspan.
Total weight of shawl is 180g.
400m per 100g, so used approx 720m
The color is hard to capture accurately, I would call this a Ravelry Red.
This was a super quick knit, although it would have been quicker with out the ripping back!!
