Loved the last pattern I did by Anna Victoria, so couldn’t resist buying another one!!
After much debate I chose Sapphira for my next project, it was a difficult decision to make!! I have at least 3 more I’m wanting to purchase and make :-)
Using a cashmere & silk yarn (navy blue 150g 960m).
I purchased this lovey yarn from colourmart, I realised I didn’t own a blue shawl, so that had to be fixed!!
Started 29 November: Decided on Size 4.5mm needles.
The pattern is well charted and easy to follow.
The yarn knits beautifully, feels gorgeous and soft with a lovey sheen, so really hoping this will work well with this pattern. The beads I’ve chosen are Prussian blue luster seed beads, size 8/0. I think they are looking OK with this yarn, they are subtle but catch the light.
30 November: So far I’ve done 5 repeats of lace body chart, trying to decide if I will do another repeat or move on to next section…. will try and work out the meterage…..
4 December: OK, so I decided on 5 repeats only, not sure on having enough yarn for more. moving on to next chart.
This chart is taking a while on some rows due to the amount of beads!!
8 December: Last chart!! Hurray, hopefully will finish it this weekend.
9 December: DONE!!! Wow she’s a beauty!!
Had about 30g /192m left, so probably just as well I didn’t do another repeat of lace body chart.
Ended up with 757 stitches to bind off, took ages.
Total weight is 171g, so by by my calculations I used 120g / 768m, meaning 51g of this is beads!! Approx 1629 beads in total!!!!
Just have to block her now, but not sure when I’m going to get round to that, may not be until new year.
Pics soon!
January 4: Finally got round to blocking her!! Had to ‘borrow’ my brothers living room floor to pin this out!!!
Finished size is approx 29” x 74”
Can’t wait to wear this.
