This is the web site I got the pattern from. I made it longer than the pattern and added to it. I put shell stitch around the bottom (7 dc each) and shell stitch around the top (5 dc each).

I also crocheted flowers and sewn them around the top and added bottons. My granddaughter picked out the buttons and she loves it.

Crocheted flowers:
4 chains, join to form a ring.
Chain 1, 11 dc in ring, change yarn color as you slip stitch to first dc.
3 dc in first stitch, slip stitch in next stitch aound. slip stitch in first dc stitch. fasten off.
