1) I used the hat instructions until there were a total of 12 stitches, then worked 3 rounds of k1, p1 ribbing, bound off and worked in the ends.

2) Picked up 3 stitches inside the hat, first rnd of ribbing.

3) Worked 9 rows stockinette, cut yarn and threaded through live stitches on needle

4) secured that end where I picked up the stitches.

5) Turned flap back down.

6) Made a tassel and threaded it up through the hat.

7) secured the thread so the tassel would stay in place.

8) Tied a knot about an inch from the top of the hat and trimmed hanging loop.
