Notes

The pattern is an easy intro into lace, with lots of stockinette and delicate eyelets throughout. Self-striping hand dyed yarns are so much fun to work with! It’s always a surprise to see what it is created with the finished project. Superwash merino does stretch a bit after being washed. When trying on the sock as I was knitting it, to measure the foot length, I struggled just a bit to get it over the heel. But after washing & blocking, it has plenty of give and fits beautifully. With a superwash yarn, I would actually be a little cautious if it fit perfectly while knitting it, unless you wanted slouchy socks. The yarn I used was a hand-dyed yarn from Elissa Crouch and sold at Knit Nook in Cambridge, Maryland (410-648-5648) but any fingering weight 80/20 superwash merino/nylon blend yarns for socks would work. Such a fun little project!
