May 28th, I have high hopes for this little sweater vest, for I am smitten with it and would like one for myself too. My cunning plan is to knit the itty bitty size as a tester and then do the maths to up size the pattern to fit me. For this I will surely need the knitting gods to smile down on me.
May 30th, hey ho! Let’s go…
A little later on, 10 rows in my eyes are itching, alas I feared donegal was a risky choice for my woolly issues. However I will continue upon my knitty way as I love the little itty bitty button hole ( my first made whilst picking ) and despite thinking I would never do lilac again after the 90’s I do rather like the colour.
June 1st, I am smitten with this little knit and it’s charms. I have even got used to donegal’s tweedy wooly ways. My thoughts are turning to buttons as I finish up the front side, wondering if I can find 7 itty bitty vintage buttons in my collection for this sweetie. In my mind I would love yellow but having a feeling that is pie in the sky wishful thinking.
June 2nd, have cast off, hip hip hooray! now I need to add the buttons and also tackle the Kitchener stitch on one shoulder. As I fear for the life of my little stitches I will wisely wait till stitch circle tomorrow eve. Alas no yellow buttons could I find but I am going to use my precious set of vintage blue ones I found years back and have been waiting for a moment such as this to shine.
June 3rd, finito! Would I knit this little sweetie again? Yes I would. Would I use soft donegal again? Yes I would. Mine came out a peachy size for a 6 to 12 month small being using the worsted weight yarn and size 6 knitting pins.
