Mods: Instead of the star pattern, I made a chart of the Zia sun. I also did several rows of garter stitch at the base of hat, to stop it from rolling. It still wants to flip up sometimes.

Originally, the hat came out way too big, so I frogged the whole thing and re-knit with smaller needles. The photo where he’s wearing the hat is the first version - too big and the bottom edge is rolling up. The other photos are the 2nd incarnation of the hat.
