Laptop sleeve, improvised. It’s designed for an 11” Macbook Air which is 12” wide by 10” tall.
I cast on 84 x 2 sts (84 per side) using the magic cast-on. Knit in the round with 7 repeats of the space invader chart plus one space between each chart going across. I did 6 rows of invaders, also with one blank row as a space between charts. The other side of the sleeve is two copies (one mirrored) of a flower chart.
Once the charts were done, I switched to 2x2 rib so that the top of the bag would lie flat and give a bit of an enclosure. The handle is made by simply binding off 20 sts in the middle of each side. Then cast-on those same stitches in the next row (I used the cable cast-on). I actually did the top doubled then folded it over for more strength.
Knitting is done (11/28/11) but I will add a fabric liner to prevent stretching.

It took nearly 5 months for me to finish that fabric lining. I really hate sewing!
