I saw a hat similar to this surfing the web. It was an obviously knitted hat, but I don’t knit. I attempted to recreate it in crochet:
Hat base
With white
- Make a magic ring, chain 2 (counts as dc now and throughout) 12 dc in ring total, sl st in 1st dc
- Ch 2, 2dc in each dc around, sl st in 1st dc made
- Ch 2, * 2dc in next dc, dc in next dc; repeat from * around, sl st in 1st dc made
- Ch 2, (dc in next dc) twice, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc; repeat from around, join with sl st in first st 5.-8. Ch 1, * (sc, 2dc) in next stitch, skip 2 stitches, repeat from * around, join with sl st to first st, ch 1, turn. Finish off after the end of round 8
Join green
9-11: ch 1, sc in each stitch around, join with sl st in 1st sc.
Head (make 2)
With brown
- Ch5, sk 1st ch, sc in next 4 chains
- Ch 1, turn, sc in next sc, dec, sc in last sc
- Ch 1, turn, dec, sc in last sc
- Ch 1, turn, dec
Sl st the two pieces together
Ears
Make 2
Ch 4, sl st in 3rd chain and 4th chain from hook, finish off
Using photo as guide, attach head and ears, embroider on legs, nose, eyes.
