Notes

Final note: I had this whole week off of work, and I had planned out two projects to keep me busy. The first was the jacket I posted a few days ago and the second was this top. I bought this pattern (Radiating Top by Zanete Knits on Ravelry) and this luscious purple yarn from Hobby Lobby and went to work. I was determined to get this bad boy done today as I wanted a picture of me in it in the big snowstorm haha! Had I not decided I needed a snow pic of me in this summer top I probably would not have finished it any time soon because the constant rows of twisted rib was making me a little bit like Jack… “All twisted rows and no play makes Shawn a dull girl”…as the snow twirled around our secluded little home I felt more and more like grabbing the axe and ending this project once and for all….buttttt I had a long talk with the twins down the hall and decided to just get it done so I could soak in the tub with that weird lady down the hall. Bahahaha!

Making xs because my chest is 34 and I am wanting more of a form fitting fit not loosey goosey.
OMg I cannot get through the first 10 rows rolling_on_the_floor_laughingrolling_on_the_floor_laughingrolling_on_the_floor_laughing the charts and the set up don’t match up and I am LOST.

Ok, figured it out. That red stupid line was messing with my brain. Hahahaha basically, you skip that first stitch for your first repeat after marker on RS and skip the last stitch before the marker on WS.

I do hate working from charts.

Not a fan of how this is written. The “transition rows” are explained more fully long after you encounter them with no notation to see page plah blah blah. I spent way too much time figuring them out on my own.

01-30-2022

Starting alternating the transistions on row 53, first one will ne ended so the center is long as shown in images.

The top section abruptly ends. No discussion about putting on stitch holders. Soooo that is what I am about to do, but am questioning it all.

I am skipping the short rows. I am also adding decreases at side seams every 4 rounds after the first inch of knitting in round, for four inc rounds total. P to 2 sts before sm, Ssp, sm, ktbl, k2tog, k to 2 before sm, ssk, sm, ktbl, p2tog I want to make it more form fitting, as I dont like the loose look. One more inc round at the 6 8nch from under arm mark.

I have not had the opportunity to tey this on yet, the way it is constructed is kinda hope and pray your way through haha! I hold it up and it seems like it will fit, but hard to tell for sure since it doesn’t have all the edgings. I am beginning twisted rib (with same needles) at 9 inches from under arm.

I really hate this project rolling_on_the_floor_laughingrolling_on_the_floor_laughingrolling_on_the_floor_laughing the twisted ribs are neeeveeerrrr endinggggg. Eye on the prize…..eye on the prize….

No mention with how long to make the neck binding. I’m just going for 18 rounds total.

Wish It was an inch longer, oh well. Just have the neckline to do, omg the end is in sight!!

I struggled with how to rate this pattern. The end result is a fantastic top that is totally wearable. BUT the way the instruction is pretty confusing (as mentioned in all my previous notes) I would not recommend it to a knitter that doesn’t have a lot of previous experience. Any experienced knitter should have no trouble sorting it all out though, so in that sense it is a great pattern ….meaning the end result is outweighing the confusion…with a few tweaks this could easily be a beginner pattern though.

In closing: I am SO happy I did the decreases on the sides. I am THRILLED with my fit and so happy I was able to obtain gauge.
