I used a traditional sc hat base, using pink for the inc rounds and light green for the rest. in the SECOND round of green, I sc in BL only so that there are free loops to attach the skin flaps. For those, after the hat was complete, I sc around the open loops and then randomly would sc, hdc, dc, picot, sl st, or a random combination so the skin wasn’t ‘uniform.’

Then, for the brains I chained 100 then sc in each chain, but I’d stick 3 sc in every few chains at random intervals…then I whip stitched it in a brain type pattern.
