Used 2 strands for sole of slipper (1 cotton & 1 strand of Bernat Yellow) and 1 strand of cotton for around. The top crocodile decoration is crocheted separate so I used a corresponding color.

For the boy slippers, I added eyes but for the girl slipper I added metal bead trinkets. My daughter loved the trinkets I added to a crocodile crochet bag that I made that she loves wearing as a hat, so I added the same trinkets to match.

For the bottom of the slipper, I added a skid stop product for rugs that I purchased at Hobby Lobby. I found it in the latch/hook rug department. Although it was $14, I had a 40% off coupon and it goes a long way. I have made 2 toddler slippers & 1 adult size slipper and haven’t even made a dent in the small tub.

I tried jazzing up the solid white liquid with applying glitter at the end. Not a good idea as it takes away all of the slid stopping power. I found that applying with a foam brush worked better than a bristle brush for getting into the grooves of the crochet design. It does make the bottom more stable but I haven’t tried to wear slippers outside to see if it would make them water proof yet.

The tub of skid stop says to dry overnight but not to wash for 2 weeks to allow the product to cure. These are recent creations so I have not washed yet but will do so on delicate and air dry. The metal trinkets are crocheted in so I am not concerned about them coming off but will be curious on their trip through the washer.
