sweater #11 2016

I have just enough of these 2 yarns (I hope) to knit this little cardigan. I’d bought them to knit a stripy DROPS top, but I wasn’t happy with how it was looking. So this pattern (which I’ve had on my radar for ages) seemed perfect to switch to.

Mods: I’ve added an extra couple of stripes for a 20cm depth yoke. Slightly longer in the body (I still want quite a short cardigan though), with no waist shaping.

22.4: I think the yardage given for the Drops Alpaca is slightly tight as I’ve had buy another ball to knit the front button bands; having said that, I have made the body/yoke slightly longer, so that may account for it.

I’ve used 2 balls of the Drops Delight, though I’ve had to miss the last CC stripe on one of the arms as I ran out of yarn; I think this may not be too noticeable in the wider scheme of things. Later update: and then I found another ball of Delight in my stash! dohdohdoh

For the front bands, I picked up a stitch for just about every row along the stripes; I did try 2 sts for every 3 rows (which I usually do), but it seemed to need more sts for the bands to ‘sit’ nicely.

6.5: buttons too small (dohdohdoh again) so found these ones in button stash, slightly too big and mismatched, but they actually suit the cardigan pretty well.
